Yes, you can rent our vans with a standard Irish drivers licence, providing it is in date and has been held for at least 2 years.

If you wish to rent a van, you will need a valid ID, a credit or debit card, along with a utility bill and valid drivers licence. Additional documentation may be required from international drivers.

Yes, but before you rent with us, contact your insurance company to be sure that you are covered to drive the van you are renting. Also, it is worth taking into account the personal cost if you had to take out a claim on your personal insurance.

We accept all major credit cards as payment for rentals. If you do not have a credit card and you wish to rent a van, you can call our reservations department and we will explain the terms and conditions.

Unfortunately we cannot accept cash payments for our van rentals, but we do accept all major credit cards.

Yes you can add another driver to your rental. The other driver must produce a valid drivers licence, along with proof of age (Must be at least 25 and max 70). If an unauthorised individual drives your vehicle, you will forfeit any cover that you have purchased previously.

Yes, you are eligible to hire one of our vans with up to 6 penalty points on your licence.

Yes, all of our prices include 24/7 breakdown cover.

You must return the van with the same amount of petrol as it was let out with.

Yes, our Vans are covered all over the island of Ireland.

If you wish to leave Ireland in one of our rentals, you must have fully comprehensive insurance and must also purchase AA five star cover. Value Van Rental must be informed of any plans to leave the island of Ireland in advance of the rental.

We offer a grace period of 2 hours after the agreed return time. After that, you are charged an extra day of rental.

No, child seats are not permitted in commercial vehicles.

All parking and speeding tickets, along with all other fines and tolls are 100% the responsibility of the hirer. If you use the M50 motorway during your rental, please note that there is a barrier-free toll in operation. It is located between junction 6 and 7, and the toll amount will be deducted from the card details you supply to us upon termination of the lease. Alternatively, you can pay the tolls yourself directly.

Rates can change at any date or time, providing the availability of a particular vehicle at any time. A rate is not officially binding until a reservation is confirmed.

If you are involved in an accident in one of our vans, contact us as soon as you possibly can and we will advise you of what to do next.

Yes you can return your rental early, but you will not be eligible for a refund.

When collecting your van rental from us, be sure to bring your drivers licence and please ensure it is in date. You must have your full licence for 2 or more years to rent a van with us. You will also need a utility bill and a credit card.

All drivers must be in possession of a full-unendorsed driver's license at the time of rental. (Certain minor endorsements may be acceptable, please call us prior to booking).

Yes, Value Van Rentals can provide insurance on our vehicles. This is subject to certain criteria and a deductible of €1700. This deductible cannot be reduced. Drivers must possess a full driver’s license for at least 24 months prior to the pick up date and must be at least 25 years of age.

If you have your own fully comprehensive motor policy you may wish to transfer this onto our vehicle on a temporary basis. This is subject to your insurance company agreeing to do so. Value Van Rentals will complete the initial insurance transfer to our vehicle. However the hirer is responsible for ensuring fully comprehensive cover is provided on our vehicle at all times during the rental.

All details provided by hirer must be correct and valid. You must acknowledge and understand that it is a criminal offence to drive a motor vehicle without a valid policy of insurance, and that it is your legal responsibility to have a valid policy of insurance in place at all times when the vehicle is rented by you. Any provision of false, misleading or incorrect information provided by you may constitute a criminal offence.

Vehicles are restricted to 160 kms per day unless otherwise arranged with our staff.

In Ireland, the age requirement to rent a vehicle is 21 years of age. Anyone renting a van from Value Van rental must have had his licence for over 24 months.

Value Van Rental have differing age requirements depending on the type of insurance you have to drive the van,

Own Insurance Policy
Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held their full license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. There is no upper age limit.

Our Insurance
The minimum age to rent a van on our insurance policy is 30. Drivers must have held their fully, unendorsed license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. The maximum age for renting a commercial vehicle on our insurance is 70.

If you are travelling on the M50 motorway in Dublin during your rental, please note that there is a barrier-free tolling system in operation. The toll plaza is situated between junction 6 and junction 7. As the renter of the vehicle, you are responsible for payment of this toll. Payment must be made by 8pm on the day following your journey via one of the methods below:

  • Online at www.eflow.ie
  • By phone on LoCall number 1890 50 10 50 (from Republic of Ireland) or 0845 3015405 (from Northern Ireland)
  • In person using the Payzone branded outlets nationwide that display the eFlow logo
  • At the Value Van Rental desk

Alternatively, the toll charges can be added to your final bill.

Yes a €250 deposit is required to rent a van with Value Van Rental

Value Van Rental will pick you up and bring you to your rental, but we do not deliver vehicles. Once picked up, we will bring you to the office to complete the rental agreement and we will then get you out on the road.

Yes, you can add an additional driver to your rental car, once the other driver meets all of the following criteria:

  • They meet all our renter requirements
  • They are present with the primary driver when picking up the vehicle
  • They produce a valid driver’s licence, and a credit card in their name
  • An additional daily fee for the additional driver may apply

Value Van Rentals can offer one-way van hire between Dublin and Belfast in certain circumstances. There will be a charge for this.

We do have additional charges in place for late returns. These prices are dependant on how late the return. After the 2 hour grace period, you will be charged a full day's rental fee

Receipts for your rental will be available to view online for 6 months, starting 48 hours after you return your vehicle. If you are looking for a receipt for a rental that was more than 6 months ago, you can contact us directly and we will assist you.

Hirer's leaving Ireland in one of our vehicles must provide their own fully comprehensive insurance and also purchase AA Five Star Cover. Value Van Rentals must be informed in advance if the hirer is planning on driving the vehicle abroad.

The cost of the penalty will be added to your rental invoice.

Unfortunately, you must be insured on your own policy, or if you are on a joint policy you can be insured on a policy from us here at Value Van Rental

Speeding - Parking and other Endorsements / Fines are the responsibility of the hirer in full. Value Van Rentals accepts no responsibility for any fine or payment. The renter is obliged to inform value Van Rentals of any fines or parking tickets issued whilst the renter is using the vehicle.
